A Black Queer Open Mic night: Queer Times, Queer Lives.

We’re having an open mic night at Fulton Street Books on April 15, 2023 from 7-9 PM. Join us for coffee, books and a beautiful expression of Black, Queer love. We’re looking for singers, poets, rappers, comedians and everything in between. This event will be for all ages so please keep the content appropriate! We will provide a mic and a stand. Black Queer Brunch

Black queer visibility and presence is key to our mission of normalizing the Black queer experience across all of Tulsa. To this end, we hold monthly Sunday brunches! We always find an establishment that is expressly Black and queer-friendly, continuing our mission to provide a safe space to nurture Black joy. We’re always looking for new locations so please let us know if you have any recommendations!


We ask that our non-Black friends, allies, and supporters reserve the monthly brunches for Black, queer attendees out of respect for the racial trauma many of our members have experienced and continue to heal from. We appreciate your support and understanding!

This class will cover:

  • The History of Ballroom Culture and its importance to The Queer Community.

  • How to put together a lewk for the ball.

  • The categories of the Black Queer Proud Sneaker Ball and how you can apply them to your look.
